Tory Lanez has been charged on Thursday, October 8, 2020, for the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. The incident happened in July 2020.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office issued a press release declaring that the “rap artist known as Tory Lanez has been charged with assaulting a female friend in the Hollywood Hills earlier this year.”
The D.A. also alleges Tory inflicted great bodily injury. Inflicted great bodily injury means physical injury suffered by the victim of a violent crime that causes a substantial risk of death, extended loss or impairment of a body part or function or permanent disfigurement.
The rapper was charged with two felony counts, one of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and another for carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.
While the press release did not expose Megan Thee Stallion’s name, it did describe a “24-year-old victim” who engaged in an argument with Lanez on July 12 while driving in an SUV in Hollywood Hills.
“The victim exited the vehicle and Peterson [Tory Lanez] is accused of shooting several times at her feet and wounding her.”
Just weeks after the the Canadian entertainer released an album claiming his innocence, he was officially charged. If convicted, the 5 foot 3 artist faces up to 22 years and 8 months in prison.
A source exclusively told Plenty of Shade that if Daystar Peterson, professionally known as Tory Lanez, gets jail time, he might get deported to Canada! Not too sure Tory is a fan of cold weather and long winters.
The Stallion publicly accused him of shooting her in the foot on her Instagram live, on August 20t, 2020!
“Yes, this n***a Tory shot me. You shot me, and you got your publicist and your people to these blogs lying and s**t, stop lying,” she said with emotion.
Tory Lanez will be arraigned on Tuesday October 13, 2020. More information to come.
